Jane Wix has been involved in The Kairos program for as many years as I can remember. The concept of the program is to build the Christian community inside the prisons where the Kairos Community prays and meets weekly together.

Kairos Inside Graduate prisoners raising clasped hands in celebration. In addition, each month Kairos volunteers like Jane return for a “Reunion” of the entire Kairos community. The fact that they return again and again to each prison is what distinguishes Kairos from other prison ministries. Without our follow up support, the efforts of the 3 ½ day retreat would quickly be lost to the prison environment. Jane also works hard to collect toiletries and donations that the women need that they might not have. The small hotel toiletries are great donations that really help the ladies out.

Programs like this help to rehabilitate the ladies on a personal and spiritual basis that helps reduce the repeat of the offense that often got them there significantly. It takes someone very patient with an open heart and the willingness to serve to really make an impact as a volunteer with the program and Jane definitely has the heart to help others.
